DESCRIPTION
The 1.54 inch OLED display module featuring a 128×64 dot matrix and SSD1305 driver IC is a compact, monochrome passive-matrix display solution designed for embedded systems requiring stable visual performance and flexible interfacing. Supporting both 4-wire SPI and 8080 parallel interfaces, the module combines moderate resolution with wide operating temperature tolerance, making it suitable for industrial control panels, portable instrumentation, and human-machine interfaces.
This module adopts a passive matrix OLED (PMOLED) structure, where each pixel is individually driven in a multiplexed manner at a duty ratio of 1/64. The 128×64 resolution provides sufficient graphical capability for text, icons, and basic UI rendering, while maintaining low power consumption compared to active-matrix alternatives.
The organic emissive layer ensures self-luminous operation, eliminating the need for a backlight. As a result, the display achieves high contrast ratios and excellent readability under a wide range of ambient lighting conditions.
The module supports monochrome output in white, blue, or yellow variants. Each pixel measures 0.254 × 0.254 mm with a pitch of 0.274 mm, ensuring consistent luminance distribution and sharp edge definition. The viewing direction is specified as “all,” indicating uniform visibility across wide angles without significant contrast degradation.
At the core of the module lies the SSD1305 driver IC, which integrates display RAM, charge pump circuitry, and control logic. This integration simplifies external circuit design and reduces the need for additional components.
The SSD1305 supports both serial and parallel communication modes:
· 4-wire SPI interface enables simplified wiring and is well suited for microcontroller-based systems with limited I/O resources.
· 8080 parallel interface provides faster data transfer rates, advantageous in applications requiring frequent screen updates.
The dual-interface capability allows system designers to balance between pin count and communication speed. This flexibility enhances compatibility across a wide range of embedded platforms, from low-power MCUs to more performance-oriented processors.
The module features a compact outline of 47.0 × 51.5 × 5.75 mm, with an effective viewing area of 35.05 mm (H) × 17.5 mm (V). A 20-pin configuration ensures secure electrical connectivity while maintaining a manageable footprint for integration.
Designed for demanding environments, the module operates reliably within a temperature range of -40°C to 80°C and can be stored between -40°C and 85°C. This robustness makes it suitable for outdoor equipment, automotive subsystems, and industrial devices where temperature fluctuations are common.
